Age Limit:-

• Stenographer:-18 to 27 years.

Sports Preference Criteria

First Preference: Candidates who have represented India at an international-level sporting event with the required authorization/clearance from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will receive the highest priority.

Second Preference: Preference will be given to candidates who have represented a State or Union Territory in Senior or Junior National Championships conducted by National Sports Federations recognized by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, or in the National Games organized by the Indian Olympic Association, and who have secured a medal or a position up to 3rd place. Among candidates from Senior and Junior categories, those who have participated in and won a medal at the Senior National Championship will be preferred.

Third Preference: Candidates who have represented a University in an Inter-University sports competition organized by the Association of Indian Universities/Inter University Sports Board, or in the Khelo India University Games conducted with the authorization of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and have achieved a medal or secured a position up to 3rd place in the final, will be considered next.

Fourth Preference: Priority will be given to candidates who have represented a State or Union Territory in the Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years age category), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games, conducted with the approval of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and have obtained a medal or finished up to 3rd position in the final.

Fifth Preference: Candidates who have represented their State School team in National Sports/Games for Schools organized by the All-India School Games Federation and have won a medal or secured a position up to 3rd place will be given the fifth level of preference.

Sixth Preference: The final preference will be given to candidates who have represented a State, Union Territory, University, or State School team at the relevant level but did not secure a medal or qualifying position. Such candidates will be considered in the same sequence of preference mentioned above.

Important:-

1. Selected candidates for the post of  Stenographer post will have to qualify in Skill Test, the Dictation test will be for 10 minutes, 80 w.p.m and Transcription will be 50 w.p.m. (English) and 65 w.p.m. (Hindi) only on Computers.
2. The selected candidates for the post of Tax Assistant will be required to qualify the Data Entry Skill Test, 8000 key depressions per hour.

Important Information for Income Tax Recruitment 2026:-

• Candidates  should clearly indicate the preference of the posts in the application form.
• The sports achievements/participation of the candidates shall be considered only up to the date of this notification, i.e. I 0.08.2026.
• Sportspersons who are already employed in Central Government or State Government departments/organizations or PSUs should furnish an NOC from the present employer.
