1. Exam Structure Overview.

LIC AAO 2025 follows a three-tier selection process:

  1. Preliminary Examination – Qualifying stage.
  2. Main Examination – Marks considered for final selection.
  3. Interview / Personality Test – Final selection stage.

2. Preliminary Exam.

Format: Online, Multiple Choice Questions, total 100 questions

  • Total Marks: 70 (English section is qualifying only; not counted in ranking)
  • Sections & Duration:
    • Reasoning Ability: 35 Qs — 35 marks — 20 minutes
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Qs — 35 marks — 20 minutes
    • English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension): 30 Qs — 30 marks — 20 minutes
    • Total Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Negative Marking: None for general posts.

3. Main Examination.

Structure: Two parts—Objective Test (300 marks) + Descriptive Test (25 marks). English descriptive is qualifying and not counted toward ranking. Objective Test (300 marks, 120 questions, 120 minutes), Each section has allotted time:

Prelims: Small changes such as General Awareness replacing English for legal posts; negative marking of 1/4th for irrelevant posts.

Mains: Includes sections like Professional Knowledge (objective and descriptive), reduced objective sections, and English communication tested separately.
