- Candidates obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities or
- Candidates passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers India. or
- Candidates obtained a degree or diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government or
- Candidates passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers India. or
- Candidates passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India. or
- Candidates passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959
Salary:- Selected candidates will receive salary and other benefits as per the applicable Pay Level and Government rules mentioned in the official notification.

- UPSC ESE Prelim Exam stage-1 will be objective type Papers.
- UPSC ESE Prelim Exam will be Maximum 500 Marks including Paper-1 200 marks, Time duration 2.00 hours & Paper-2 300 marks Time duration 3.00 hours.
- Their will be Negative Marks 1/3 for wrong answer.
- UPSC ESE Main Exam will be Conventional Type two Papers, in Engineering Discipline specific and maximum marks of 600 including Paper-1 300 Marks time duration 3.00hours & Paper -2 300 marks time duration 3.00 hours.
- UPSC ESE Stage 3 will Be Personality Test/Interview.
- Stage-3 Personality Test/Interview will be 200 Marks.
Document verification:- Candidates called for document verification after successful of all stage of Exam.
Medical Examination:- Candidates have to passed requisite medical fitness test, Conducted by the UPSC.
